Kind words from my students

Real stories of growing confidence, technique and joy in performance.

“I love how we break down the song into sections and really work on all the details to the phrases. It's giving me the confidence to nail the song.”

Sarah

Singing student

“Charlotte is a great teacher. She's motivational and confidence boosting. With a wealth of experience it's nice to know that I can progress my singing ability. I feel in good hands with the performance of my voice.”

David

Singing student

“I started off as a dancer who could sing in tune but had no confidence to perform solo. I have gained so many new techniques that have made me feel strong enough to go to vocal auditions. Charlotte is always bubbly and energetic and will never fail to put a smile on my face. She always explains things in a way that is very easy to understand. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and I can't wait for more lessons!”

Molly

Dancer turned vocalist

“Charlotte is working with my 13 year old to develop her singing technique and increase her confidence. Charlotte is using lots of different coaching techniques, is loads of fun, energetic, motivational and empathetic… so just what's needed!”

Robert

Parent of a student

“Charlotte's helping me return to singing lessons for the first time in years by being patient, precise and very fun in lessons! I'm learning a lot and quickly, but never feel silly for the things I can't do. Charlotte makes sure I'm comfortable whilst pushing me to do my best. I'm excited about my developing voice!”

Harry

Returning singer

“Charlotte was absolutely super, she welcomed the children with a beaming smile and exuded an infectious positive energy throughout the workshop. My reception class were thoroughly hooked and even children who are noise sensitive joined in and had fun. I heard other classes excited voices travelling down the corridor from the hall, so a lot of fun was had by all. Thank you.”

Primary School Workshop

Reception class teacher

“My son absolutely adores singing with Charlotte, he particularly loves her enthusiasm and passion for music. As a parent, I appreciate her kind but firm teaching style, she is able to keep an energetic 7 year old on track, whilst allowing him to feel heard. Charlotte has been able to harness his joy and enthusiasm for singing, whilst giving him the skills to help him develop his singing technique. One of his favourite parts is choosing which songs he and Charlotte will work on.”

Natalie

Parent of a student

“Charlotte explains singing concepts clearly and in a way that's easy to understand; lessons have a consistent structure involving a warmup and practicing the song; all exercises and warmups are accompanied by explanations regarding their purpose and technique; currently ~9 months in and have seen significant progress with vocal technique and strength.”

Nathaniel

New to singing

“Charlotte is a lovely teacher. My daughter has grown in confidence and skill since starting her singing lessons. I would highly recommend her.”

Who it's for

Lessons for every voice

Whoever you are and wherever you're starting from, there's a singing lesson that fits!

Children's and Teenager's Singing Lessons (ages 6+)

I teach children from age 6 upwards, the age I find young voices can really begin to understand and refine technique. For younger students, I tailor lessons to be shorter and high-energy. For teenagers, however, 45 or 60 minutes work great to dive into more detailed and advanced technical development.

Adult Singing Lessons

From complete beginners to returning and even professional singers, every lesson is tailored to you. There's no 'right' age or level to start, and adults are every bit as welcome as younger students. In our busy lives, dedicating time to a hobby is essential for well-being. Singing offers a unique space for personal growth, allowing you to invest in yourself, rediscover your creative voice, and build confidence away from everyday pressures.

Online Singing Lessons

1-2-1 lessons work brilliantly online. I've taught online since the pandemic, with real improvement and success for my students, so you can learn from anywhere. The choice between online and in person is always yours.

Audition & Exam Preparation

Working towards an audition, a graded music or LAMDA exams? Lessons are built around your goal, giving you the technique, repertoire and confidence to perform when it counts. I am incredibly proud of my students' track record, with 2026 exams having 100% Distinction rate on LAMDA exams, and with other years, no students below a Merit.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about singing lessons with me before your first lesson.

In my 1-2-1s, I teach ages 6 and up. I believe 6 is the age at which children can start to understand the voice and begin refining it. I truly believe you can start to sing at any age, and I welcome students who are children, teens and adults at any skill level.

1-2-1 lessons can definitely be online! I've taught online since the pandemic, seeing great improvement and success in my students. The choice is yours. Workshops are in person only, as they rely so much on teamwork and group creativity.

For 1-2-1 lessons, I run lessons from my home studio in central Farnham, or online. For workshops and group classes, I'm happy to travel within a 20-mile radius of Farnham.

For adults and teenagers, I recommend an hour-long class weekly. For children, I'd suggest either 30 or 45 minutes, but we'll always work around your schedule and your needs.

There are packages for 1-2-1 lessons, in both 5 and 10 lesson bundles, which come with a discount. I also offer a referral discount, which entitles you and the person you refer to a £5 discount each. And if you're a school or business wanting to book a custom number of workshops, we can negotiate a discount code for you.

No! If you want to jump straight into lessons and communicate your questions via email or text, that's 100% up to you.

The first lesson is all about us finding our groove together, for me to get to know your voice and for you to get to know me. In the free pre-lesson call, I'll ask you, or your guardian, how you learn best, your experience, your favourite songs, your goals, and whether you have any additional support needs. So our first class is all about exploration rather than purely introductions. I'll ask you to be prepared to sing part of a song you know well (this can be anything), as it's important for me to assess your voice, doing fun exercises and hearing you sing something you love.

I teach anything and everything! I'm classically trained and have a degree in Musical Theatre, but I also love to work on pop and rock. I'm happy to take on whatever you want to improve, and to open your eyes to other styles too.

Nope! I'm a classically trained soprano and you could be a pop tenor, but it really doesn't matter. I work through all types of technique and tailor every exercise to your own vocal range.

In my 1-2-1 lessons, I'm all about your voice sounding like you. I'm not here to change your natural tone, but to enhance it through technical knowledge and understanding how the body impacts the voice. I was trained in the Estill Method, so I use a combination of this technique with adjustments for your needs and your voice. I also use a lot of creativity and imagination to aid understanding and bring out the fun of singing. Every student's lesson is different, as it's all about your needs.

Practice makes perfect! I know it's a cliché, but your voice is a muscle and needs consistent training. Just as going to the gym once a month would mean slow progress, the same is true for the voice. I'll personalise my recommendations for outside of class to you, your voice, your schedule and the skill we're working on.

I've been teaching performing arts for over a decade, working with students of all ages, abilities and goals, and across all disciplines (singing, drama and dance). As well as this vast experience, I have a qualification specifically in teaching performing arts (ADPA) and a degree in Musical Theatre. I've also been trained in behaviour management, SEND teaching, first aid and safeguarding, and I hold a long-standing DBS. I'm happy to provide a copy of my DBS if you wish.

For my students under 18, I contact the student's guardian exclusively, outside of the lesson. I'll also provide the guardian with a copy of my DBS and safeguarding certification on request. I'm incredibly communicative and will always give feedback to parents and guardians if and when something is flagged to me, or I notice something out of the ordinary. More than anything, I want to create a safe and fun environment for my students.
